Breaking the Bad Habits
Hey Guys welcome back to my blog.
Its my birthday in less than 3 weeks and I'm super excited not really sure why but the fact that I'm alive and well is a reason to be excited.
I decided to share with you guys some of the bad habits I have lived with over the years and how I intend on gradually working on them and eventually grow totally out of them.
I have picked out 3 of these bad habits, I'll say maybe they are the top 3 on the list, people have told me about them and some others I discovered on my own.
Thanks for staying tuned, feel free to share some habits you have been battling with and how you intend to stop them, or how you were able overcome some the habits.

I have picked out 3 of these bad habits, I'll say maybe they are the top 3 on the list, people have told me about them and some others I discovered on my own.
- Not calling people and returning calls- This is definitely the top on the list, everyone that knows me can testify to the fact that I never call. Sometimes when I remember I haven't called someone in a long while, I pick up my phone to call but I just all of a sudden get carried away. Some other times I just don't feel the need of calling probably because I spoke to the person a while back and I see their posts on social media so I know they are fine. I know I've lost a lot of potential friends with this singular habit. I have decided to change this habit by making conscious efforts starting with calling and texting my family (close family) at least 4 times a week, I will call my close friends at least 2 times a week, I'll pick 2 people ramdomly from church or my office or anywhere else once every week. I really hope it works..lol.
- Eating with my both hands- This is one habit I can't really say when I picked up but I discovered I do it many times without even knowing. I won't say anything serious about this asides the fact that this is really embarrassing, although I don't always do this outside (I think) I mostly do it when I'm somewhere I feel very comfortable. I can't really say how I'm going to stop this habit but I definitely will and soon. Imagine me going out on a date and I start using my both hands to eat... I need to stop this before I embarrass myself in a public place
- Picking up my phone first in the morning - I know a lot of people do this and some people don't see a problem doing it. Once I open my eyes in the morning, the first thing my mind and hands reach for is my phone, I go through whatever it is I want to check, pending whatsapp messages, Instagram dm and new updates and before I know what is happening I'm already running late for work and I rush into the bathroom and dash out of the house, most times I remember I haven't prayed or even opened my devotional when I'm in the bathroom and I just say a quick prayer or sometimes I just go through my devotional on my phone in the bus. I say to myself everyday "tomorrow I'll pick up my bible first before anything else" but I just find myself doing the same thing everyday. How I intend to stop this habit is pretty funny, after everyday, I'll put my phone in my bag and my Bible and devotional beside me on the bed, that should definitely be the first thing I'd grab first thing every morning.

I share in these exact same habits, I've upgraded a lot on no.1 because people started doing the same thing to me, so I got a first hand knowledge on how annoying it gets when people don't respond to your calls. The thing about habits (mostly bad ones) are, it's easier to tackle once you realize and acknowledge them as problems
ReplyDeletethanks Princess, I hope we get to work on these habits and become better.
DeleteI'll play the devil's advocate here:
ReplyDelete1. Not calling people and not picking call is good call. We're all adults; no one should be sad because you didn't call them; they didn't get you your airtime credit and if they really want to pass something important, they can use other mediums like you know...the way youths of nowadays pass information; like messages. Besides; using a mobile phone for just half an hour a day could raise the risk of brain cancer by up to 40 per cent, a controversial study has suggested; (Article linked below) so its better to be safe than sorry.
2. Who made eating with both hands a bad habit?? when? why? please you can eat anyway you want; as far as you're enjoying your food; anyone that has a problem with that can't join you in eating and thats a good thing too.
3. If you could just get your devotional and Bible on your phone would that justify you picking up your phone first thing in the morning? If yes; then do that. Or you can just easily wake up earlier to fit everything on your schedule.
